Throughout 2025, Embark remained dedicated to improving the lives of Sri Lanka’s street dogs through rescue, treatment, rehabilitation, adoptions, feeding programs, and community outreach — with 444 rescues, 2,338 treatments, 757 vaccinations, 99 sterilizations and 30 adoptions across the year.

In 2025, Sri Lanka faced severe weather caused by Cyclone DITWAH — widespread flooding across Peliyagoda, Kolonnawa, Malabe, Narahenpita, Wattala and surrounding areas. Embark’s rescue team worked tirelessly to rescue displaced dogs and feed more than 300 animals a day in affected communities.

Last year our rescue efforts resulted in 410 rescues and hospitalizations, highlighting our commitment to animal welfare. We administered 1,566 vaccinations and provided 3,961 treatments, significantly improving the health of many animals.
